Pruning Season

Thank you for visiting our page. All our work is hourly pay guaranteed, but we will offer piece rate on top of hourly for faster team members.

Our pruning season teams start in the beginning of June and some teams come online a bit later in the month – this all depends on which vineyard and their requirements and generally goes until early to mid-September. 

We have most of our contracts in the Willyabrup area of the Margaret River region (about 20 minutes north of Margaret River Township along Caves Road). 

We invest a lot of time into our greatest asset – YOU! 

Having said that, we generally look for team members who are genuinely interested in vineyard work and want to learn the ‘how’s’ and ‘whys’ of what we do in the vineyard. 

We the usually run about 16 - 20 staff and we work with you, teaching you everything you need to know so that you can earn good money. 

On the subject money, what are we offering?

Some vineyards (NOT ALL) do offer an hourly piece rate system for faster pickers: 

Our piece rates are annually reviewed, and our method of reviewing is to analyse what the previous year’s staff earned and if necessary, adjust the upcoming years pruning work so that we are in line with the Government Award guidelines that state: AN AVERAGE WORKER SHOULD BE ABLE TO EARN HOULRY PAY PLUS 20%. In 2022, this would be: Hourly: $27.50 PLUS 20% ($05.50) = $33.00 per hour. 

We do pay a minimum of $27.50 per hour as we like our team to earn above everyone else. 

It is NOT in our interest to employ staff on a low wage as this is counter productive to our business plan which is: the more our staff earn, the happier and more productive they will be! 

We also work very closely with Rural Enterprises which is a government department that has been set up to find people farming work, so after the season finishes, if you want further work, we can help you with this as well! 

Subnote: we recommend you bring headphones as our team LOVES to sing to music, so we get very loud!
